A little bit about me
What drives me:
I am someone that cares deeply about the emotional wellness of others and how we can develop resiliency to begin to live our best lives. I believe in empowering ourselves by owning our histories and learning how to use what we have gone through to propel us into the life we deserve to be living. My vision and mission is to help as many people as I can find their own individual mind body connection using therapy, meditation, yoga and mindfulness techniques.
Experience & Education:
I have my masters degree and NY State license in Mental Health Counseling.
I worked at a small, private college for 12 years in all areas such as admissions, academics, student affairs and college counseling where 4 of those years I served as Director of Counseling & Assistant Dean of Academic Services.
My mental health therapy training and style is in Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Solution Focused therapy, Humanistic therapy and Strengths Based counseling.
I have my 200 hour yoga teacher training from SUP OM YOGA and studied under Debra Bisaccia.
I teach paddle board yoga at SUP OM YOGA (www.supomyoga.com) every summer from May to October.
I currently work full time for The Jed Foundation (www.jedfoundation.org) as a JED Campus Advisor working with a case load of 70 colleges/universities nationwide.
A few fun facts about me:
I found yoga 7 years ago and the practice of yoga, mindfulness and meditation healed my anxiety and has changed my life.
My friends and family would describe me as empathetic, positive and empowering.
My favorite yoga pose is child's pose :)
I love affirmations and use them in all my counseling sessions and yoga classes.
I love animals, the outdoors, and baking cookies.
My favorite moments as a therapist and yoga teacher is when I see someone have a "lightbulb moment."
